Introducing the Imperial Polling Service!

First off, let me say that I am thrilled to be joining the staff here at the Imperial News Network. I'm incredibly excited to see what the future has in store for our region now that it has a reliable news service. However, when it comes to a news service, news isn't all that really matters. A news service also must be at least somewhat malleable to the opinions of the public and it must have a way to gauge the opinions of said public.

Today, I'm launching the Imperial Polling Service. While it probably will be run and staffed by myself for the moment being, that doesn't mean that this service won't fill a vital need that hasn't been consistently provided in our Empire before. For now, I'm not going to talk the analysis of our polls, I'll bring that up in our weekly bulletins on our polls in the field, but instead, I'd like to explain just exactly what we're going to be doing here at the Imperial News Network's Imperial Polling Service.

Every week, we'll have a partisan voting intention poll in the field. This form will be relatively simple, and as of now, will consist of only three questions: "First, if a general election were held today, for which party would you vote in a hypothetical Senate election?", "If a General Election were held today, who would be your preferred candidate for Chancellor?", and "Which of these options is your preferred Coalition in the next Senate?". In reporting on these polls, some analysis will be done: notably what the breakdown of seats would be in this hypothetical Senate and what possible Coalitions could be formed. These polls will run from Monday afternoon until Saturday evening, with the goal of maximizing responses.

Each edition which reports on the partisan voting intention poll will also include a Party Membership Census which will measure the percentage of partisans in each party at weekly intervals.

Every two weeks, we'll have a more complicated poll in the field. This form will include the regular partisan voting intention questions, but these polls will also include the questions of approval of officials. In addition, our bi-weekly editions of the IPS poll will include a questionnaire at the bottom asking for responses to determine questions to be included on our monthly NWE Attitudes Survey for IPS.

Once again, thank you all for supporting INN and please support IPS! We can't wait to get started with our polling and analysis and you can fill out our first poll here: https://forms.gle/R7iDJWuBTz6pXGcE7
