From Election to Now

The New Western Empire had it's General elections roughly a month and a half ago. Since that point a lot has changed both inside and outside of the NWE. Some for the better, others not so much. First off is the shift in Cabinet. The Foreign Affairs Department went from Xadrya as Director to Communaccord with Zhukovian as his Deputy. Communaccord at the time declared that he has "rebuilt the Department from a depleted shell once before, I can easily do it again." Currently his progress appears to be by filling up the Ambassadorships with nations and by establishing better relations with others. The Interior Department went from Deutches as Director to Former Armed Forces Director Ant. Ant ran on a platform that specialized reform and optimization, proposing that " The Interior Deparment has to exist as a multiplying factor for the beauty of our political system, hence I propose: The standardization and modernization of Imperial dispatches and recordkeeping; An overhaul of the Imperial artstyle and looks; The revitalization of the Empire to keep up with the standards of the world, helping us in the public sector; The promotion of Regional media and roleplay." Since his proposal and victory, Ant planned and organized the 1 Year Anniversary of NWE, which was a huge success. He also launched the regional flag contest (Which you can submit to here) and also working on an overhaul of the design of factbooks. The Justice Department went from Dependents to Yuthorin as it's Director, although with news that the Justice Department is looking to be removed nothing has happened in terms of policy. Along with the Justice Department, the Armed Forces Department has sat in decay as no one ran for it this time around. Former Director Ant also requested that the Department be closed due to the World Assembly values in the region and Military Activity. Prime Minister Texas held his own in the election, promising to continue the work he has continued to do since elected. Following the completion of the reconstruction program, the Senate and Executive Branches filled with members, while the High Court at the time sat silently. After the election the major push by the Executive Government to host the 1st Anniversary Festival appeared to pay off, with a total of 40 people in the Voice chat channels from NWE and across our embassies. The Festival didn't go as planned due to timing problems, but events such as Minecraft, CTZ v GL Debates, and General Discussion did happen. Finally the Festival ended off with Evile being declared the Citizen of the Year, Astanmark given the Personality of the Year, and Texas awarded the Official of the Year. Enough about the Executive though, the Legislative Branch has been busy. With a start of balance of 7 Senators from CTZ and 4 from Green-Left it's one of the most unbalanced Senates NWE has ever had. After electing Evile as Chancellor, the Senate has passed 3 Law Amendments, 2 Treaty's, and 1 Act, with the Legislative Docket barely decreasing with the amount of bill proposals and ideas from this Senate. Speaking of Treaties, the Foreign Affairs Department has done well to increase the amount of friends NWE has in the wider world of NS. Passing both the first treaties with The Democratic Republic and Force with the current composition, NWE is starting to make it's mark known across NS for who we are and what we can offer. Unfortunately since the election, the High Court has appeared to have gone mostly inactive. With Cheif Justice Thornian making his impeachment case to the Senate and neither Dukna nor Moonshine responding to the CJ's call to answer the questions about our laws and system people have.

Also during this season the Nation Count for the New Western Empire went from a low 230 to shattering our goal of 300. For reference, the New Western Atlantic hit 600 nations from merging and bringing in nations that way, whereas the New Western Empire has done all 300 without a single merge or push to take members from any region. It appears that the NWE is entering a new state of it's time. With the amount of success currently it is up to the Administration to keep piloting the aircraft in this right direction and making sure that this isn't just a short era of prosperity.
